A Lady

After all the naked people it was time for something a bit more refined. I was just doodling a face and she had a sweet quality to her. So this is my Sunday night homage to Gibson.

This is great Pete. I love that hair. I WISH this is what happened when I "doodled". There is a show at the Dahesh Museum of Art featuring work from early American illustrators and they have some of Gibson's work showing. I haven't been to it yet but I heard good things, you may want to check it out.

Hi Peter,

You have really beautiful work. I really like your line in some of these pencil drawings and I really like this drawing. Like Patrick Costa said, her hair is beautiful.

Peter--Beautiful work! You really captured a very charming quality in this face.I also agree with some of the other coments here about her hair. It has a nicely structured quality to it!

nice work! I like how you ended her neckline with ruffles. And her eyelids are really interesting.

I really didn't expect any one to like this very much. Warms my cockles I have to admit!

Oh, to meet her... She's probably full of kindness, wisdom, sage advice.... And the Secret to Perfect Updos! [sigh!]

My head is usually so full of chaos, I am happy to look at a really put-together, under-the-whispering-aspens, parasol-for-sunblock lady like her. She's got a love story that'll melt our hearts, no doubt about it...

So evocative. Your people, especially the doodles, so obviously busrt with their tales and ideas... All I have to do is look and I know that this one still has So Many Gentleman Callers, and it will always be Her Day...

I grew up on Disney and adored every second of soft, flawless animation and warm, human flow of line -- the eyes, the downturned ones, especially, always held such mystery and yet were also so open and wondering -- always Lana Turner and an older Shirley Temple mixed... Often with Katharine Hepburn to hold it all together.

Yay, again, for you! I just might start yet another blog and write some of the stories your doodles tell me...

Happy Saturday!
